Use Known in Claude
Connect Known to Claude so you can ask about your company's wikis and have Claude record decisions for you. This takes about 2 minutes and works on claude.ai and Claude Desktop.
Before you start
- A Known account in the organization you want Claude to use.
- A Claude plan. Free plans allow one custom connector.
Add Known
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it
Knownand paste the address:https://api.known.info/mcpSelect Add, then Connect.
Known opens in your browser. Sign in, choose the organizations Claude may use, confirm it's you, and select Allow.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds Known once for everyone: Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web, with the same name and address. Each person then connects with their own Known account.
Check the connection
Start a chat, select + → Connectors, and turn on Known. Then ask:
Which wikis can you see in Known?
Claude lists your organization's wikis, such as general. Ask it to read a page you know, and it answers with a link to that page in Known.
Troubleshooting
- Claude can't see a wiki you expected. It can only use the organizations you selected. To change them, go to Settings → Connections in Known.
- Known shows a generic icon. Claude uses its own icon for custom connectors. The connector works normally.
