Known vs Attio

Attio is a configurable CRM with inbox sync and enrichment; Known keeps relationships with the rest of your work. When to choose each, side by side.

Attio is a configurable CRM with its own data model, email and calendar sync, enrichment and AI agents. Known is a shared model of your company, where relationships are records next to your issues, decisions and plans. Choose Attio for a CRM that syncs your inbox and enriches records. Choose Known when your relationships need to live with the rest of your work, for people and agents alike.

Facts about Attio come from Attio's own docs and pricing page, read on 27 October 2026.

When to choose Attio

  • You want email and calendar sync: Attio syncs Gmail, Google Calendar and Outlook, and creates and links people and companies automatically.
  • You want enrichment and call recording (call recording on Pro and Enterprise).
  • You want a CRM you can shape: custom objects on every plan, lists with their own attributes, table and kanban views.
  • You want AI inside the CRM: Ask Attio reads your records, emails and call transcripts, and asks you to approve every write.
  • Your work is relationship-heavy and driven by email: fundraising, partnerships, founder-led sales.

When to choose Known

  • Your relationships connect to work outside the CRM: the issues a customer reported, the plan a partner is part of, the round an investor is in. In Known they're one model an agent follows.
  • You want one place for every kind of record, not a CRM plus a tracker plus a wiki.
  • You want interactions that say what was agreed, written by people and agents, rather than synced email.
  • You use your own agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code) and want them to work your relationships as you, over MCP.

Using both

Keep inbox sync and enrichment in Attio, and the wider context in Known. Connect both MCP servers to your agent; before a call, it reads the person in Attio and their issues, plans and decisions in Known, and afterwards records what was agreed in Known.

Moving from Attio

Export your people and companies views as CSV. Give the files to an agent connected to Known and ask it to create one contact or organization per row, searching for existing records first. See Set up a CRM in Known.
