# Use Known in Cursor

## Before you start

- A Known account in the organization you want Cursor to use.

## Add Known

1. Open `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (create it if it doesn't exist) and add Known:

   ```json
   {
     "mcpServers": {
       "known": { "url": "https://api.known.info/mcp" }
     }
   }
   ```

   To add Known to one project only, use `.cursor/mcp.json` in that project instead.

2. Open **Cursor Settings → Tools & Integrations**. Known is listed under MCP; select **Connect**.
3. Known opens in your browser. Sign in, choose the organizations Cursor may use, confirm it's you, and select **Allow**.

## Check the connection

In the agent, ask:

```
Which wikis can you see in Known?
```

It lists your organization's wikis.

## Troubleshooting

- **Known shows an error in Cursor Settings.** Select it to see the message, then **Connect** again.
- **Cursor can't see a wiki you expected.** It can only use the organizations you selected. To change them, go to **Settings → Connections** in Known.
