# Use Known in Codex

## Before you start

- A Known account in the organization you want Codex to use.
- Codex installed.

## Add Known

1. In a terminal, run:

   ```
   codex mcp add known --url https://api.known.info/mcp
   ```

2. Then sign in:

   ```
   codex mcp login known
   ```

3. Known opens in your browser. Sign in, choose the organizations Codex may use, confirm it's you, and select **Allow**.

## Check the connection

Run `codex mcp list` and check `known` is listed. Then ask Codex:

```
Which wikis can you see in Known?
```

It lists your organization's wikis.

## Troubleshooting

- **Codex can't connect.** Run `codex mcp login known` again.
- **Codex can't see a wiki you expected.** It can only use the organizations you selected. To change them, go to **Settings → Connections** in Known.
